Social Networks

This week i will be looking at Social networks in relation with the organization ProMOS. From my last blog my group and i have developed some wiki strategies for ProMOS. So can social networks be an assistance for organizations? You bet they can! Social networks brings a new way to connect and build relationships with many contacts

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How does social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn benefit internal and external users of an organization?

External:

  • Build relationships with your customers
  • Easily connect with clients, suppliers and partners
  • Build trust and immersion
Internal:
  • Quicker access to expertise and resources
  • Enhanced Collaboration/organization
  • Swifter innovation (visibility)
  • collaboration
  • Effective leadership development (ties are essential)
  • Better moral (social interaction builds trust)

My group will be looking at Five social network strategies for ProMOS. The 5 strategies our group came up with are:

  1. Assessment
  2. Implementation
  3. Monitor
  4. Measure
  5. Momentum

So now that we have some ideas of benefits provided by social networks,  i will now discuss one of the groups strategy for ProMOS using social networks. My strategy adopted for PosMOS using social networks is “Assessment”.  Assessment is to evaluate where you arewhere you want to go and what the wins will be along the way.

Firstly is to know your audience:

Like many project plans, there needs to be a serious consideration of your target market/audience, what are the challenges and goals for implementing certain things, in this case social networks. Putting your audience first is crucial aspect when assessing and creating goals.

What are the goals the wins:

From assessing ProMOS’s target market, situations, we can then set goals and challenges for ProMOS by using Social Networks. Before implementation begins there must be adequate planning and assessing of the current situation and where the company wants to go.

    I am glad to see you are also using the sociamediaexaminer.com in your references. That’s one of my favorites blogs about social media, Amy (the blog’s writer) is indeed very passioned about her blog, and I’ve been participating in some interesting discussion on her blog (including the one you mentioned in your reference).
    I totally agree the sales can benefits from promotion strategy using social media. And in my view that benefit can go even further using social networks to post sale strategy. For example, groups of users purchasing the same product can share their experience (e.g. smart phone users can share configuration knowledge about a specific brand). Therefore, one senior user can help a new starter user, that way reducing the cost of support to the company selling the product.
    What do you think is that a valid approach?

      thanks for reading, oh yeah >.< my mistake i had internal and external upside down! Interesting i agree that senior users can assist new users to get started up, thus reducing the cost of support.

    I think in assessment section, if corporations can carefully assess their requirement, they may using successful strategy. It will effectively decrease unnecessary waste of time. Besides, firms may extend their whole turnover.

      Yes by doing a thorough Assessment as the first step of implementing social networks, ProMOS or any organization will see what exactly needs to be done via the assessments.

      Without assessment like you stated there could be a waste of unnecessary time implementing things without considering whether it is needed or not. So before implementations/goals are made there should be careful and serious assessments done.

    • Hey, this blog is based for my Uni assignment, i feel that assessment is the first and crucial part for implementing a “social network” within an organization. This will ensure organizations know what their goals are, their current situations from these assessments.

    Although we only use the external links, and increase the company’s exposure, in order to set risk new understanding of the value of the company necessary.
    In our case study is also relevant to this and how the organization uses the network trend to improve the enterprise’s own survival value! Relative to how we can help ProMOS company to do the assessment, these ideas will be described actual issue in detail in the report. This is be worth research projects.

      Like you mentioned in order to increase company exposure there needs to be some risks taken. E.G ProMOS, they do not have any web 2.0 tools for their organization, so yes they must TAKE SOME risks, however before considering what needs to be done and taking some risk with the use of social networks they must carefully assess their situation and what will happen in the future if the did this or that. Assessing allows ProMOS to have a birds-eye view of what is happening currently which will allow them to take the right step and not risking doing things wrong which could lead to loss.

    I couldn’t be more agree with you and implementation strategy, as you say planning is the most important thing in the proposal, and a good planning can be just achieved when you correctly define the goals and the current situation of the company.
    If planning is not conducted well, or goals aren’t defined correctly the project will for sure be a big disappointment.

      Yes, my main emphasis for this strategy is to ensure the implementation stage will run smoothy, so good assessment and planning is the key to ensure goals of the implementations are done properly.

    Great Post, It has all the key information and how you and your group have set out your strategies sounds well thought out also. You bring up good points with assessing by knowing your audience/customers, knowing the objectives and weighing up the benefits and risks is key to planning for the future which is another key thing before implementing social networking to any company.
